CNG bus service re-starts

KARACHI: The CNG green buses, which were dumped at a derelict place at Surjani by the CDGK appointed contractor on grave threats from the fearsome transport mafia ruling the city, has once again started plying on the roads after immediate intervention of the Sindh Governor, who taking serious notice of the Geo News report about CNG bus service mysterious disappearance, had directed the authorities to re-start this service forthwith.

Karachiites have welcomed the restoration of the CNG green bus services on the two routes from today and hoped that this facility would further be extended to other routes soon providing some relief to the people.

Karachi Administrator said that the CNG bus service on routes Surjani-Tower and Surjani-Korangi has been restored, while Orangi- Khokarapar service would also re-start within days. He said that the maintenance and repair of the twenty CNG buses out of 75 have been completed on war footing.

These CNG buses were launched in 2009 by the Sindh Governor, Dr. Ishratul Ebad and former City Nazim Mustafa Kamal.
