Milla Jovovich

Sydney (ANI): 'Resident Evil" star Milla Jovovich has revealed that her life has been pretty hectic despite her thinking that she would take a break from her career after the birth of her daughter. Jovovich, 34, a Ukrainian-born former supermodel turned actor, revealed that things did not work out as planned after she gave birth to daughter, Ever, almost three-years ago.

“It"s hard. I definitely imagined I"d slow down once I had the baby but then everything just kind of sped up," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted her as saying.

“My husband and I just had our anniversary and I wrote him this long letter. I told him it"s crazy how it feels like life is so rushed and so hurried. Everything is 'Gotta do it, gotta do it" and our beautiful baby is growing so fast. It"s three years later. What happened? Where did our lives go? It"s work and baby, work and baby," she stated.

Jovovich"s husband is director and screenwriter Paul W. S. Anderson, and the two have been working on projects such as the popular action-horror-sci-fi Resident Evil film franchise. The fourth in the series, 'Resident Evil: Afterlife", is set to appear in Australian cinemas this week.

Resident Evil

About 17 zombie actors were injured in an accident on the sets of upcoming movie Resident Evil: Retribution, which is directed by Paul WS Anderson. According reports, they were shooting for the 3D science-fiction action film at Cinespace Film Studios in 777 Kipling Ave when they fell from a platform created for filming.

Reports suggest that the accident took place after a portion of a platform on a stage shifted or collapsed under the weight of 50 workers. According to the Toronto Police, the victims complained of leg and back injuries. They immediately rushed 11 people to hospital, while six others were treated by EMS on site.

According to police officials, none of the injuries were considered life-threatening, but it was a horrific scene for rescue workers at first. It was really difficult for them to assess the severity of the actors' injuries as the victims were sporting gory zombie costumes.

However, Resident Evil: Retribution is the fifth installment in the series of horror movies, which are based on the video games. The film, which features Milla Jovovich, Michelle Rodriguez, Kevin Durand, Sienna Guillory and Ali Larter, is expected to be released in September 2012.

Troubled waters

Brad Pitt's upcoming movie World War Z is in troubled waters after the Hungarian authorities raided the movie sets for using some illegal military weapons for the shooting. The actor was not present at the shooting spot, when the incident happened.

According to reports, the Hungarian authorities have seized AK-47s, sniper rifles and many other weapons from the unit on October 10 in Budapest. Brad Pitt, who returned later, became furious after he came to know that the movie was halted. The movie has already crossed the expected budget, which is main reason behind his anger, claim reports.

"This morning a private plane brought guns wrapped in a parcel from a company to an individual [in Budapest]. Guns like these are highly illegal to transport even if they were to used as stage guns, which hopefully they weren't. We are interrogating witness now, getting closer to solving the firearms story." The Acebiz quoted an officer as saying.

Fantasia Barrino reveals

Barrino is currently expecting a child and is now opening up about the good news.
Barrino did not comment on the baby’s father as it is rumored to be Antwaun Cook who was married while he was with Barrino.
The singer already has one daughter and is currently on bed rest with this pregnancy to keep things safe.

Do you think she seems like a good mom?

File for divorce

Do you think they will end up?

Ashton Kutcher may not be commenting on the separation rumors, but he is reportedly ready for his wife, Demi Moore, to file for divorce.
While it is rumored the two have been working on their marriage, it is rumored that things just aren’t working.

Hot or Not

Kate Hudson's long blond locks are an intrinsic part of her image, perhaps because she's the daughter of iconic blonde Goldie Hawn. So it's a little shocking to see her venture to the dark side, so to speak, for her role in Mira Nair's upcoming filmThe Reluctant Fundamentalist.

With her fair complexion and bright green-blue eyes, Kate manages to look kind of striking with the voluminous brunette curls. She's one of those women who could pull off lots of different hair hues, if she only wanted to. But she doesn't: These brown locks are only temporary, and the wig comes off before she leaves the set each evening.

What do you think: Does Kate make a good brunette? Should she consider tampering with her signature color?

Kelly Rowland

"Lay It on Me," which features skimpy outfits, near-naked men and clever use of a slinky.

Rowland already pushed the limit with her steamy video for "Motivation," but she decided to take things a step further with her clip for "Lay It on Me," an uptempo song featuring verses by Big Sean. Not only does Rowland get up close and personal with a host of underwear-clad men (she even teases one man with the dangerous point of her stiletto), she also gets close to a very special co-star: Susie the elephant.

In the video, Susie wraps her trunk around Rowland's bikini body in slow motion. Girl-on-girl action! Suggestive, no?

David Boreanaz

David Boreanaz (born May 16, 1969) is an American actor best known for his role on the television series Bones. He is also known for his role as Angel in 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and 'Angel'.
Bones star David Boreanaz is speaking out about the 2010 affair that almost ruined his marriage to wife Jaime Bergman. What does he have to say about it? Well, apparently it was "a bonding experience, in the long run."

It was widely reported in 2010 that Boreanaz had an affair with famed Tiger Woods mistress Rachel Uchitel (who got married this weekend in Las Vegas), although the actor never named the woman at the center of his extramarital affair. After the mystery woman reportedly tried to extort money from the actor, he admitted the indiscretion to People magazine, saying, "Our marriage has been tainted with my infidelities.”

But now, just a year and a half later, Boreanaz is saying that the affair actually made his marriage stronger in the long run. "In a sacred ground like marriage, you find yourself out of it at certain times for reasons unknown that can be destructive," he explained to US Weekly. "There could be a demon that kind of comes out and overtakes you."

"Do I believe in giving up?" Boreanaz went on to say. "No, I don't. I'm a fighter. I'm a lover." While we're happy that the couple seems to have gotten past Boreanaz's infidelities, we don't really think that cheating on your wife will take off as a suitable alternative to couples' counseling.

Tuned In: Tony Bennett Has Seen Lady Gaga Completely Naked

Sometime during the recording of their hit duet "The Lady Is a Tramp," Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga shared an awkward nudie moment. Also, that male model Dudley O'Shaughnessy is acting like he's just not that into Rihanna. And Katy Perry makes the world's hottest skeleton lady.........
Tony Bennett is probably too much of a gentleman to talk about it, but he's seen his duet partner Lady Gaga in some pretty intimate circumstances. Apparently Gaga took a break to shoot with famed photographer Annie Leibovitz while she was in the studio with Bennett. Nudity ensued...........

She had followed the advice of others it never would have been worn. Although she has now avowed not to listen to the fashion advice of others, this wasn't always the case. Before the her first appearance at the Globes, Glee creator Ryan Murphy specifically warned Lea to avoid wearing black. She dished to InStyle,

Ryan Murphy had told me, 'Don't wear black. You should never wear black.' So my stylist pulled floral, beautiful colors. As I'm walking to the bathroom to try them on, I see the Oscar [de la Renta] dress hanging up in her closet. I said, 'I'm wearing that.' And I called Ryan and said, 'Ryan, I'm wearing black!'
It's a good thing she held her ground! The flawless tulle confection wound up being one of the more memorable gowns of the evening and helped cement Lea's place as a burgeoning fashionista. Recently, the Glee star wowed us in several dramatic looks from the front row of Paris Fashion Week.

Miranda Kerr

Becoming a mother really helped complete Miranda, even though she stated in her previous interviews with different magazines that she had experienced agonizing pains during her labour, as she rather opted for a natural, no medication birth. When talking about baby Flynn, she calls her baby as a “bundle of love”. She tells Harper’s Bazaar: “It’s the best thing I’ve ever done. Becoming a mother puts everything into perspective. You become more comfortable in your own skin. I’d say what makes me happy is having this little man. I’m the happiest when I’m surrounded by those I love and we are in a natural environment.”

Woods is married to Swedish model Elin.

The Masters tournament, and now the scandal-ridden golfer is the victim of attempted assault by jumbo dog. Here's what happened at the San Martin, Calif. golf course: A rowdy (read: "drunk") spectator let out some sort of war cry, ran toward Woods, who was trying to putt, and proceeded to launch his hot dog at him. Now, the frank didn't even come close to hitting the pro golfer, but the event was definitely the most talked-about of the day.

Woods seemed to take the whole thing in stride, too, and cracked a smile while being interviewed about the incident. (Anything to take the focus off another loss, right?) "When I looked up, the hot dog was already in the air," he said.

Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock and her two-year-old son Louis put on their best pirate garb for a birthday party over the weekend.

The adorable tot wore a skull and crossbones bandana, striped pants, pirate boots, and a swashbuckler belt. Sandra also got into the pirate themed fun with a large hat. Louis had fun playing with balloons, running around the park, and jumping in the bounce house with Bullock. We assume he also took home some pirate booty in the form of a party favor bag.

Packers Beat Falcons

Aaron Rodgers and the Super Bowl champs, the result was the same.

Another win in Atlanta for the Green Bay Packers.

Following up on a blowout of the Falcons in last year's playoffs, Rodgers threw for 396 yards and a pair of touchdowns to rally the Packers from an early 14-point hole, keeping Green Bay unbeaten with a 25-14 victory Sunday night.

The high-scoring Packers (5-0) were held without a touchdown in the first half by Atlanta (2-3), which was trying to make up for an embarrassing 48-21 loss to Green Bay last January.

The Falcons had the Georgia Dome rocking when they raced to a 14-0 lead early in the second quarter, scoring on their first two possessions. After that, the home fans had little to cheer about.

Green Bay settling for three field goals by Mason Crosby, closing to 14-9 before Rodgers got rolling. He connected with James Jones on a 70-yard touchdown that gave Green Bay its first lead late in the third. Then, on the first play of the fourth quarter, Rodgers connected with Greg Jennings on a 29-yard scoring play that stretched the lead to 22-14.

Crosby clinched it for the Packers with his fourth field goal, a 30-yarder with 1:10 remaining after Rodgers guided the Packers on another long drive, hitting every pass he needed until Green Bay was safely in range to wrap it up.

The Falcons looked as good as they have all season with those first two drives. Then, nothing.

Atlanta didn't crack 200 total yards until late in the game. Matt Ryan had another tough night against the Packers, throwing for just 167 yards with two more interceptions after turning it over three times in that playoff debacle last January.

Dengue fever facts

What is dengue fever?

Dengue fever is a disease caused by a family of viruses that are transmitted by mosquitoes. It is an acute illness of sudden onset that usually follows a benign course with symptoms such as headache, fever, exhaustion, severe muscle and joint pain, swollen glands (lymphadenopathy), and rash. The presence (the "dengue triad") of fever, rash, and headache (and other pains) is particularly characteristic of dengue. Other signs of dengue fever include bleeding gums, severe pain behind the eyes, and red palms and soles.

Dengue (pronounced DENG-gay) can affect anyone but tends to be more severe in people with compromised immune systems. Because it is caused by one of four serotypes of virus, it is possible to get dengue fever multiple times. However, an attack of dengue produces immunity for a lifetime to that particular serotype to which the patient was exposed.

Dengue goes by other names, including "breakbone" or "dandy fever." Victims of dengue often have contortions due to the intense joint and muscle pain, hence the name breakbone fever. Slaves in the West Indies who contracted dengue were said to have dandy fever because of their postures and gait.

Dengue hemorrhagic fever is a more severe form of the viral illness. Symptoms include headache, fever, rash, and evidence of hemorrhage in the body. Petechiae (small red or purple splotches or blisters under the skin), bleeding in the nose or gums, black stools, or easy bruising are all possible signs of hemorrhage. This form of dengue fever can be life-threatening and can progress to the most severe form of the illness, dengue shock syndrome.

Dengue fever is a disease caused by a family of viruses that are transmitted by mosquitoes.

Symptoms such as headache, fever, exhaustion, severe joint and muscle pain, swollen glands (lymphadenopathy), and rash. The presence (the "dengue triad") of fever, rash, and headache (and other pains) is particularly characteristic of dengue fever.

Dengue is prevalent throughout the tropics and subtropics. Outbreaks have occurred recently in the Caribbean, including Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Cuba, and in Paraguay in South America, and Costa Rica in Central America.

Because dengue fever is caused by a virus, there is no specific medicine or antibiotic to treat it. For typical dengue fever, the treatment is purely concerned with relief of the symptoms (symptomatic).

The acute phase of the illness with fever and myalgias lasts about one to two weeks.

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is a specific syndrome that tends to affect children under 10 years of age. It causes abdominal pain, hemorrhage (bleeding), and circulatory collapse (shock).

The prevention of dengue fever requires control or eradication of the mosquitoes carrying the virus that causes dengue.

There is currently no vaccine available for dengue fever.

Colours of Pakistan

Too often we see images from Pakistan that are not part of the reality. In Pakistan, like in many other places on Earth, has deep problems, but a country of over 170 million inhabitants surely has nice images to show. But the West, us, insist in paying attention just to the sad images.
One of the aims of this blog is to show how life in Pakistan goes further than terror and poverty. There are colours, essences, smells just typically Pakistani. Beautiful images that make hard to understand how a country so culturally rich can be in such a situation.
Some shots to introduce the audience to the ‘nice’ (and normal?) Pakistan. Enjoy.

Staying at hostels in New York might prove an eye opening experience

Hostels in New York seems to be all about what hostels in other parts of the world are not. For instance, you will find that unlike hostels in other parts of the world, hostels in New York are remarkably clean and tidy. Further, there are plentiful hostels across the big city whereby no matter which part of the city you may prefer – perhaps since your agenda lies close to that part, you will find a hostel in the vicinity. Overall, if you are looking to dispel all the myths that you have possibly held for long within your mind about hostels as a whole, it is perhaps time to quell all those myths and have a truly eye opening experience while staying at any of the numerous hostels in New York.
A common concern often tends to be that of privacy; with hostels in New York, that really should not be a concern, given the fact that there are numerous hostels across the city which offers private rooms instead of dorms. That way, you are assured of your own little space, away from the prying eyes of others around you. Further, thanks to private rooms, you are also ensured of sound sleep as well as safety of your belongings, which might get a little compromised when you have many others around you, with easy access to all your belongings.

hostels in New York: the food

Food was another aspect which was often a concern to hostel dwellers; while some hostels did not have any catering facilities, others had a very limited menu. Still others had a comprehensive menu yet very poor quality of food on offer. With hostels in New York, this too does not seem to be a valid concern any more since these hostels are very well stocked on food, that too of exemplary quality. They have made special effort to have quality chefs on board, who ensure that only the choicest and truly lip smacking dishes are offered to patrons.
Overall facilities at these hostels have also been given a huge fillip. For instance, you will often find free Internet on offer across all these hostels. Further, everyday concerns such as laundry, ironing is also invariably taken care of at these hostels, with or without additional charges.
